To create your website, we'll start by discussing the questions below. Another useful exercise is to understand the cost process for setting your website budget. Your answers will help us both determine the best design and content for your website to meet your specific needs.

• What is the topic, product or reason for your website?
• Who is the primary audience for the website? Secondary audiences?
• What "action" do you want your website visitors to take?
• What are your goals for the website? Short-term? Long-term?
• How will you measure the success of those goals?
• Who is your competition and how will you position your product by comparison?

• What "personality" should your website convey?
• Do you have colors or a certain style in mind?
• Do you envision a large, medium or small sized website?
• How much did you want to spend on your website?

• Do you have existing marketing materials or other printed/offline information about your website topic?
• Do you know what basic "pages" you want for your website?
• Do you have text written (at least in draft form) for your pages?
• Will you write/provide the content, or would you like help with that?
• What type and how many graphics do you desire on the website? 
• Do the graphics already exist in some form, or will they need to be created?

• What domain name do you want for your website (www.yourname.com)?
• For your navigation buttons, do you have a preference for top/side/multi-level, or something else?
• What other interactive features might you need? (e.g., online store, database(s), mailing list, guestbook, online forms, online donations, workshop registrations, blog, anything else?)
• What other websites would you link to?
• How many e-mail addresses will you need for your website?

• How frequently will you update your website with new information (and what type of info)?
• Do you want to be able to update it yourself (or your staff)?
• Or do you want to send updates to OBSIDIAN CREATIVE?
• With what urgency do you expect to need your updates posted?

• What primary keywords (15-30) would your audience use to find your website?
• How would you describe your business focus in one short sentence?
• Do you have a marketing plan to promote your website and your product or topic?
• Do you need any printed products to further promote your website or support your company, product or idea. If so, we can help!

• It’s important to remember that you just can’t expect to  “build it and they will come.”
